The Heritage Garden Program is a garden certification program dedicated to creating water-wise gardens that incorporate native plants of Washington State.
Heritage Gardens also honor the unique natural and cultural features of the Walla Walla Basin
Promote the use of native plants
Promote sustainable and waterwise landscaping and gardening techniques
Educate our community about the history and biodiversity of the Walla Walla Basin.
The Process
Our services are free in participating counties and include:
Site Visits -- Customized Plant Lists -- Technical Advice -- Inspirational Planting Guides
With an emphasis on the use of native and drought tolerant plants of the Walla Walla Basin.
Once certification requirements have been met, participants receive a free Heritage Garden sign for their garden.
