Heritage Gardens


The Heritage Garden Program is a garden certification program dedicated to creating water-wise gardens that incorporate native plants of Washington State.  

Heritage Gardens also honor the unique natural and cultural features of the Walla Walla Basin


  • Promote the use of native plants

  • Promote sustainable and waterwise landscaping and gardening techniques

  • Educate our community about the history and biodiversity of the Walla Walla Basin.


The Process


Our services are free in participating counties and include:

Site Visits -- Customized Plant Lists -- Technical Advice -- Inspirational Planting Guides

 

With an emphasis on the use of native and drought tolerant plants of the Walla Walla Basin. 

Once certification requirements have been met, participants receive a free Heritage Garden sign for their garden.
